Learning with Games 2007 Conference Announced[03.29.07]

Organizers Politecnico di Milano have announced Learning with Games (LG2007), a conference focused on serious games scheduled to take place from September 24-26 at France's Grand Hotel Mercure Sophia Country Club and Sophia Antipolis Science Park.

Designed to share ideas and promote research, production and development on serious games used for learning and training among the gaming community, the event will cover a variety of serious games oriented topics, such as game development, pervasive games, agile development, user interfaces, learning evaluation, gamer communities, artificial intelligence, and distribution models.

Event organizers further note that LG2007 will be used as a platform to demonstrate the potential for using serious games in classroom settings, thus “making education and training fun and enjoyable.”

While a conference program has yet to be released, the event's official website promises keynote address from serious games experts, as well as research presentations, paper presentations, and serious games demonstrations. The event will open the morning of September 24, and will feature a gala dinner for attendees that evening.

LG2007 invites leaders from industry, government, funding agencies and academia to participate and exchange ideas/views on topic of serious games. The event is currently accepting submissions, and authors may submit abstracts through the conference's website until May 31, 2007.
