Warner Bros. To Promote AIDS Awareness With Game[12.05.08]

Publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment plans to release Pamoja Mtaani ("Together in the Hood"), a game intended to raise AIDS and HIV awareness and encourage prevention.

The multiplayer LAN-based PC game will be released in Kenya, Variety's The Cut Scene blog reports.

Pamoja Mtaani features five characters whose journey takes them across East Africa, as they adopt behavior that works towards AIDS prevention.

It is developed by North Carolina-based Virtual Heroes, which produces serious games for health, military, corporate training, and other purposes.

Warner Bros.' involvement is part of the Partnership for an HIV-Free Generation, a collaboration between private enterprise and The United States President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief.
