LEEF Event Discusses Games and Simulations for Performance[04.13.09]

The upcoming Learning and Entertainment Evolution Forum (LEEF) will focus on exploring the role games, virtual worlds, and simulations play in education. The event, to be held June 18th and 19th at the Harrisburg University of Science and Technology in Pennsylvania, will feature a number of discussion sessions presented by industry professionals.

LEEF organizers have announced three of the speakers who will conduct sessions at the event. Author Clark Aldrich will present on "The Business and Learning Results of Games and Simulations." The keynote "Playing with the Brain: The Impact of Brain Research on Game and Simulation Design," will be conducted by RMC Project Management's Julie Dirksen and Rick Van Sant of Ferris State University.

"The premiere of the event will showcase the convergence of learning and entertainment technologies and explore the benefits of, and business case for, games and simulations for learning and performance," said Director of Learning Technologies Andy Petroski. "The University is an ideal host for the forum since it is pursuing innovative approaches to games and learning for performance through its Learning Technologies Master of Science program and its Center for Advanced Entertainment and Learning Technologies."

The event will additionally feature vendor exhibitors, technology demonstrations, and professional networking functions. Harrisburg University is currently accepting case study submissions and exhibitor applications.
