Language learning technology developer Rosetta Stone is sponsoring the Summer Game Jam, a game design competition to be held between July 17th and 19th at the Rosetta Stone headquarters in Harrisonburg, Virginia.

During the contest, teams of up to four members each will have 48 hours to design and prototype an inspirational, educational, or motivational game title. The competition's top entries will be chosen by a panel of judges at Rosetta Stone.

Each team must include at least one member with experience in Flash, XNA, OpenGL, PyGame, or other game programming environments. All team members must be 18 years of age or older.

The contest's top prize includes a Macbook Pro, 3 levels of Rosetta Stone software, and publication of the winning game entry on Rosetta Stone's website. The runner-up team will receive $500 and a Rosetta Stone software suite.

To be considered for entry in the Summer Game Jam, team members must send an e-mail to gamejam@rosettastone.com that includes personal contact information, a summary of programming experience, and an answer to the prompt, "Describe your passion for building games that teach and motivate people." The entry deadline is July 1st.
